We have a dedicated team of conveyancing lawyers. We advice on all matters relating to land law and conveyancing including commercial and residential conveyancing, deveoplment of commercial and residential complexes (including flats and housing estates), property finance, environmental and planning matters, extensions of government leases, sub-divisions and amalgamations etc.
Our recent experience includes:
- Advising the developers of large scale residential housing and flat developments;
- Advised two medium sized banks in respect of the acquisition of a commercial building in Nairobi for bank headquarters;
- Advising a listed company in respect of the disposal of various commercial properties in Nairobi CBD;
- Several security document review exercises for banks in Kenya.
- Advised a medium sized bank in respect of the sale of their building in Nairobi CBD, and subsequent lease back of the same building.
- Advised to various embassies and foreign missions in respect of sale and purchases of properties and leasing of properties.
- Advising several property developers in respect of the development and sale of residential flats and maisonettes.
- Preparation and registration of leases of several commercial buildings in Nairobi,
- Advice in respect of several multi million shilling and complex property finance transactions in Kenya, including drafting of property security documents and related security documents.
- Advising numerous clients on various issues relating to compulsory acquisition orders in Kenya.
- Advising property developers (commercial, industrial and residential) in respect of the implications and implementation of the provisions of the Environmental Management and Co-ordination Act.
- Advising agricultural landowners on issues relating to the Land Control Act, change of user and planning.
- Advising various banks and landowners on issues relating to extension of Government leases, planning, change of user, development of land and general conveyancing matters.
- Advising on numerous other land and buildings sales, purchases, leases and mortgages.
- Drafting and registration of simple and complex security documents relating to land.
In the process we have developed a wealth of experience in conducting searches of properties, complex developments of properties, environmental law, property acquisitions and sales, leases (commercial and residential), legal audits and due diligences, review and drafting and negotiating of transactional documents and advising on relevant laws and regulations especially those relating to property law.
