Richard Omwela

Richard Omwela, born Kenya 1956; LL.B. (Nbi); admitted 1980 Kenya; Notary Public; Commissioner for Oaths; Member: Law Society of Kenya and Certified Public Secretary.

Richard Omwela heads the Commercial and Conveyancing Department of HH&M.

Richard has extensive experience in privatisation, mergers and acquisitions, employment law, organisational restructuring, contract law, telecommunications and general commercial law as well as intellectual property law. 

Richard has acted for a wide range of client including banks, insurance companies, airlines and national and international non-governmental organisations.  Richard has advised on government projects, banking law, capital markets, sale of securities, obligations of listed companies and general company law.

Richard joined HH&M in 1980 as a Legal Assistant and now heads the Commercial and Conveyancing Department. 
Richard is also the chairman of the Kenya Rugby Union.Richard is recognised as one of the leading commercial lawyers in Kenya by Legal 500 and Chambers Global.
